WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
The competition is open only to amateur photographers; people who collaborate with magazines are excluded. Photos produced by or in any way related to members of the jury cannot participate. All participants must over 18. Participants must have filled in the Project questionnaire.

PERMITTED MEDIUM
Only digital photos are allowed (files), either from digital cameras, or from scans of slides or negatives. The originals of the winning pictures, be they negatives, slides, or digital files, must be at the jury’s disposal for publication or any checks. Photomontages, swimming pool or aquarium pictures, double exposures, or any kind of digital retouching, except for slight colour, contrast, or exposure changes, are not allowed.

FORMAT
Files must be in JPG format at 300 dpi, with the longest side not exceeding 1024 pixels, and no bigger than 300 Kb.

REQUIREMENTS
Pictures must be unpublished. They must not have won other prizes and must have been taken after 1st October 2006. Date, title or name of organism, and name of diving centre must be indicated for each picture. Each participant can submit a maximum of three pictures. The pictures received will not be returned. Pictures must be sent with a fully completed official participation form (see "deadline section" for details). Each participant declares to be the author of the photos submitted to the competition, copyright holder, and responsible for their content. Each participant authorizes publication of their pictures on Internet, in the press, on radio and television, and in special events, thus relieving the competition organizers from any responsibility.

JURY
A panel of experts will assess the pictures, that will have to be shot in the marine area of Sharm el Sheikh. The pictures will have to reflect the spirit of the project, portraying the current biodiversity state of that area in the positive (intact and healthy reefs, symbioses, recovery from damage, etc.), as well as in the negative aspects (broken corals, bleaching events, litter, etc ). Photographic quality and technique, although important, are not decisive. The jury’s decision is final. Participation in this competition implies acceptance of the present rules.

DEADLINE
Photos must be sent only by email, by and no later than 27th of each month to: concorsofotografico@steproject.org Each month photos received between the 28th and the 27th of the following month will be considered. The date and time of the email will act as proof of arrival.

PRIZE
Each month starting from January 2007 the author of the picture best representing the STE project will be awarded a prize. The prize consists of a holiday including flight and accommodation offered by Pianeta Terra, as well as a package of 10 dives offered by Pianeta Terra Diving. The accommodation is in Hilton Sharm Dreams, a beautiful hotel complex in Sharm el Sheikh.

WINNER
By the 10th of each month the winner of the competition will be announced. The winner will have ninety days to take advantage of the holiday prize. At the end of that time the right to such prize will be lost. The name of the winner must correspond to the name of the person who uses the prize; it cannot be transferred to anyone else.
